This bike is the fifth bike I've owned in a little more than ten years and it is by far the best I have ever experienced. Its strong yet fast and the Disk brakes a make a world of difference. I ride in the city during the week and off road on the weekends and the smooth control makes this bike a keeper. I get complements on how nice it looks from other Trek owners as well. I would suggest to anyone who loves to ride city streets and off road trails, this bike is the one to have

Comments:

Bought the bike on a budget to replace a 15 year old GT and could not be happier with it. Rides very smooth and is comfortable for my frame. I do mostly smooth trail riding with some rougher trails on occaision, and so far so good. Only a few complaints: Rear gearset seems a bit cheap - not nearly as precise as my old GT's. Occasionally misses a gear or gets stuck inbetween. Does ok for trail duty, but a point of concern on hillier terrain. Frame-wise, needed a 19 inch for my height, but this one seems to have a very high top tube that I have trouble straddling. Once on though, it fits like a glove. Brakes (I got the disk model) are fantastic!! Tires grip well on trails and roll well on pavement, but tend to pick up and fling cinders and small rocks - bad enough to where I am looking into replacements as that's normally where I ride and it's getting annoying. All in all, great bike for the price point. So far i've changed the grips and added bar ends - no other changes other than tires are planned in the near future.

Bought this bike two weeks ago and love it! this was my first "real" bike purchase and i couldnt be more pleased. the sales team put me into the right sized frame and got everything set up for me. the first ride out on it i couldnt believe how comfortable and fast this bike was. It has been too wet to hit the dirt trails with it but i can't wait for that first ride in the dirt! this bike looks great, feels great and you cannot beat the price for entry level. i reccomend this whip for anyone looking to get into the sport but dont want to spend a ton of coin.

Love it. I have had it 3 weeks, and if the weather EVER warms up will be on it all the time. As it is, I have put 20 miles on it and can't wait to add to that total. I almost made a HUGE mistake buying a bike at [...] or [...]. Please spend a few extra $$ and get a real bike at bike shop with real service. The guys at Eagan Penn Cycle are the BEST!!!. Got me the right size bike, [...] and [...] can't or won't do that. Free tune up with in 90 days, and a free recheck next year. You really do get what you pay for. As for the bike it is build like a tank. Is everything on it high end? No. But for an entry level bike, I challange you to beat it. So far I have only been able to street and paved trail ride, as the off road trails are too soft to be open yet, but I am sure it will do very well off road as well. If I was to have one thing I would change, it would be to make the handle bars just a bit higher. A little more comfortable for my back, but for a few $$, I can add the vertical grips to solve that very minor problem. I hope this review helps you make a informed choice. I looked at reviews and talked to people for over a month before I bought my Trek 3700, and could not be happier. If you purchase one, I hope you will be as happy as I am with mine. Good luck.

Cycle is handled by the rider, not the rider bein g handled by the cycle. Very easy to control, even when riding in dense terain. We ride almost every single day. So it is paramount the the bike be dependable. I can attest to this bike being extremely dependable. Great for competitive cycling as well as for recreational. I highly suggest giving this bike a try.

          Comments:

Have had this bike for several months, the service I received at the trek bike store is un-beatable. The bike is awesome I upgraded to double pane tire rims because of the rocky trails...Watch out for alignment, and dont take anything apart or you'll end up having to pay for a fix like I did :). Great bike handles downhill beautifully uphill like a champ and I couldn't ask for a better bike for the price.
