Cannondale's SuperSix 5 takes your raw power and effortlessly turns it into superior climbing and sprinting speed. Its lightweight unidirectional carbon frame is expertly tuned to give you a snappy, responsive ride that's still comfortable thanks to carbon's inherent vibration-damping properties. Up front, a stiff full-carbon fork with a tapered steerer gives you pinpoint handling, perfect for piloting the lightweight Shimano wheels with Schwalbe tires around any corner. And, Shimano takes care of the drivetrain with their reliable 105 parts, while a Prologo saddle gives you all the support you need for pounding out the miles.

Cannondale's SuperSix features a SuperSix carbon fork which has a steerer that's 1 1/2 inches in diameter where it meets the fork crown and tapers to 1 1/8 inch at the top so that it accepts most standard stems. This design ensures incredible stiffness while offering lightness, too. And, it boosts your climbing, accelerating, cornering and sprinting significantly.

    Comments:

I am a runner, but due to a bad case of Plantar Fasciitis a couple of months back, I began riding my 30 year old Peugeot bike to keep my training up. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed cycling and quickly discovered that the old Peugeot was "vintage" and should be retired. I was looking for a fast and agile machine with a good gear ratio to work hilly terrain. This bike was about [$] more than I had budgeted for, but after a test ride I was sold! It handles our rough Maryland pavement beautifully. [...]I love the all carbon-fiber construction. The 20 speed gears shift quickly and smoothly and the braking system is top-notch. This is an awesome machine, and with the proper care, I expect that the Cannondale will give me at least as much service as the Peugeot did. :-)

    Comments:

Bought the 105 bike because it looks and rides almost as well as what the Liguigas team rides. In fact, watching the Mt. Baldy mountain stage in the Tour of California, the Liguigas riders looked to be riding the same bike (albeit much faster) as I. Of course for the lower price, the components (esp. the heavy FSA Gossamer cranks) aren't great, but after swapping out the wheels (with Ultegra hybrid carbon/alum.), saddle (Bontrager InForm), cranks (compact Sram Force 50/34) and shifters (Force), my 58cm weighs in at 17.5 lbs. Good enough for this wannabe.

    Comments:

I originally had a budget of $1000-$1500 and was about to buy an aluminum Cannondale for $600 less but I am so glad that I have made the choice to get a carbon Super Six. The way I look at it is to pay a little bit more now and don't have to think about upgrading later. Bottom line is to buy the best bike now even if it is a little over your budget and you'll end up spending less in the long run! I like how this bike performs and how it fits into the elite family group of Cannondale bikes although I only have the entry level Super Six. Gets major thumbs up everywhere I ride and love the sharp colors of the Team Replica paint scheme.
