The CAAD10 3 Ultegra builds on Cannondale's long history of crafting superior aluminum bicycle frames. Its meticulously shaped tubes are light and compliant so you can ride stronger and longer while features like its BB30 bottom bracket make it impressively stiff for maximum power transfer, excellent acceleration, and climbing prowess. Up front Cannondale's SPEED SAVE carbon fork with a tapered steerer carves corners and smooths rough pavement with ease. Plus, this race-ready rig is equipped with easy-rolling Mavic wheels, a precision-shifting FSA/Shimano Ultegra 20-speed compact drivetrain, and powerful Ultegra brakes. Other notables include the quality Cannondale stem, bar and carbon seatpost, and the supportive Prologo seat for long days.

Tapered head tube and fork. For increased stiffness and improved steering precision, tapered head tubes (see image, on left) and forks pair an oversize lower steerer tube (usually 1 1/2-inch, see image, on right) with a standard diameter upper steerer tube (usually 1 1/8-inch). This combination sheds weight compared to straight 1 1/2-inch systems, and adds stability and stiffness when compared to straight 1 1/8-inch systems. The result is a bike that tracks better through corners while allowing for the use of standard stems.

Cannondale's SPEED SAVE rear stays (left) and fork (right) create a micro suspension system that allows the bicycle’s wheels to track the ground, improving comfort, control, traction and handling. This allows the bike to roll faster, accelerate better and corner harder without affecting pedaling efficiency.

BB30BB30 is an oversize bottom bracket standard that boosts stiffness and decreases weight. BB30 bottom bracket bearings are pressed directly into compatible frames, meaning there are no heavy external cups to thread in. And, BB30 cranksets feature 30mm-diameter spindles (standard spindles are smaller) for greater pedaling efficiency and increased power transfer.

Great Bike for the value. The light frame and the fantastic group set make it one of the best valued packages out there. The CAAD 10 is as good as it gets with high end Aluminum bikes. It is lighter than many other brands carbon bikes. The best advise that I could give people is to buy the previous year model bike. I was able to buy a 2013 CAAD 10 3 for the same price as the 2014 CAAD 10 5. Definitely the way to go!
